Eating and drinking at Schloss Staufenberg
Whether your visit to Schloss Staufenberg is part of a hike, day trip — or even if the wine bar is the highlight of the trip — we guarantee a satisfying spot to enjoy a wide range of delicious and rejuvenating specialties. And that's not all: Baden wines from the Markgraf von Baden estate capture the spirit of the Ortenau and Lake Constance landscape, in a stunningly simple glass of fine wine. Come visit us and enjoy the treasures of Baden!
Baden Cuisine — Delicious Diversity
The cuisine of Baden blends the aromas of our neighboring countries and regions into a single, perfect culinary experience. The earthiness of the Black Forest meets the fresh and fruity Ortenau and Lake Constance, in delectable delights woven together with French flair and just a hint of Swiss spice. From regional to rich, savory to sweet, we have something for every taste. Oven-fresh 'tarte flambée' made either in the traditional or Staufenberg style, fresh Mache salad with bacon and croutons, elegant game terrines, a sampler plate of selected regional snacks including smoked Black Forest ham, local Durbach salami, Swabian meat-filled raviolis, spinach dumplings, and for dessert (if there's still room!) apple tart or chestnut parfait with Rote Grütze(a famous red fruit compote). And what better to match these local delicacies than Baden wine, grown and matured on the hills of Schloss Staufenberg?
Baden Wine — The Best from the House of Baden
The Weinstube (wine bar) at Schloss Staufenberg offers a rare opportunity to taste the opulent Baden wines in the very landscape that produced them. All of the bottles originate from the traditionally styled Weingut Markgraf von Baden estate, whose history is closely woven with the story of Schloss Staufenberg itself. Typical white varietals such as the Klingelberger, introduced in times past by the Margave's ancestors, Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) and Scheurebe grace our extensive wine list. Other traditional Baden hallmarks such as Weißherbst and Spätburgender (Pinot Noir) naturally enjoy a prominent representation as well.
